
Low Light instructor

NEW FOR 2026 - Low Light Instructor will prepare Officers to design, implement and conduct a modern, LE-focused, low light training program. The course is focused on provided real skills to the Instructors that are directly relevant to law enforcement work and not simply distilled or adapted from other applications. The course is split 75/25 between the duty handgun and patrol rifle. The following topics will be covered in detail. History of low light tactics, technology, hand-held flashlight use, HWML use, performance shooting, movement in low light, use of cover, RWML use, 80/20 training split, COF development, range set-up, safety considerations, documentation & reporting, case law, program management and instructor methodology.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Duty Handgun with WML (recommended minimum 500 lumen)
Minimum 3 magazines (minimum 5 magazines if under 10 round capacity)
700 rounds of handgun ammunition
Patrol Rifle (RDS or LVPO optic are recommended but not required)
WML for rifle (recommended minimum 500 lumen, recommended minimum 50k candella)
Minimum 3 magazines for the rifle
Sling capable of holding the rifle in a muzzle down orientation (2-point sling recommended)
300 rounds of rifle ammunition (no M855 or armor piercing ammunition)
Handheld flashlight (minimum recommended 1000 lumen)
Spare batteries for ALL lights
3 Green / 3 Red glow sticks aka: chemlights
Full Duty Gear (including body armor)
Appropriate Range Attire (We will train in all weather conditions)
Hearing & Eye Protection (electronic preferred)
Knee pads (optional)
Shooting mat (optional)
Note taking materials
