LEO Armed Vehicle Defense

LEO Armed Vehicle defense

LEO Armed Vehicle Defense is all about winning the fight out of, into, and around vehicles.  Officers work in and around vehicles on a daily basis.  In a large number of attacks against police, these assaults occur when inside or around a vehicle.  In LEO AVD we focus 1st on winning the fight from inside your own cruiser.  Topics include ballistics through various types of auto glass, presentation of the weapon while seated, movement principles inside a vehicle and tactical exits.  From there, officers will experience a full vehicle ballistics laboratory to see first hand the effect of common rounds from handgun, rifle, and shotgun.  This information will be applied as drills move to fighting around vehicles and using for against those inside vehicles.   While the majority of the 1st day focuses on the Duty Handgun, in Day 2 we introduce the use of the Patrol Rifle and work a variety of positional drills and vehicle based movement drills.  The entire program is designed around realistic, relevant tactics to the law enforcement community and not simply an adaptation of Military counter-ambush drills.
